5 Wrong Diet Trends People Follow From The Internet

Every now often we try diet trends to get in shape, but not everything is worth a try. Being a mixed martial arts (MMA) enthusiast, I can help you achieve your body goals. To start, let’s learn what not to do. Here are 5 Wrong diet trends people follow from the internet. There is a million dollar bonus tip at the end.

Starvation DietSkipping meals or eating less is considered the number one technique to reduce weight. Well, it may be the easiest thing to try. If this were a solution, then every Muslim would have shred KGs of fat during Ramadan. We can easily observe that starvation will only get you weakness.

Tip: Skipping meals and eating lesser than your body requirements makes you fatigued and consequently makes you lazy. My first tip is to eat less in each meal, and you may eat 4-5 times a day.

Not Taking Fats

Seperating egg yols and whitesFatty acids that cause obesity comes from saturated fats, or I can call it bad fats. Taking good fats in a moderate amount (between 25% and 35% of your daily intake) is recommended by The American Heart Association (AHA). Most of this intake should be from unsaturated fats. So taking the yolk out of your egg won’t help you that much.

Tip: Fats from plants are usually unsaturated, with some exceptions. And saturated fats mostly come from animals. Be mindful about fatty acids intake; do not remove it altogether.

Following Complex Diet Routines

Human nature is to get something as fast as it can get. Achieving a body shape is no different; we want it and want it NOW! That’s why we easily fall prey of following diet routines that promise faster results. Starting such routines is easy, but eventually, we get tired of these routines.

Tip: Try to make your diet meals as simple as it can be, prepare what you have in your reach. Make goals that are achievable in the long run. For instance, if you know that eating raw vegetables will only make you frustrated, then include your comfort foods in the routines.

Eating Processed Food

Processed food groceryAny diet trend that demands you to intake processed food should be a no-no. Eating complex processed food can never be healthy. Remember! Eating organic can make your body respond faster than processed food.

Tip: Go vegan or organic for a while, and you will notice the difference. Don’t go so hard on yourself. Just do what you can, start slow and make it your routine; after all, it’s only about your healthy routine. You can have cheat days and make yourself happy, every once in a while, by eating whatever you want to.

Not exercising

Just remember your weight roughly depends on 70% on diet and 30% on exercise. TBH climbing stairs up and down throughout the day is NOT exercise. Exercise is what you will do on a specific schedule, other than your daily routine. Your body responds to routines; you need to make a routine of simple exercises if you can not hit a gym.

Some of the weightless exercises that is equally good for men and women are:

  1. Jumping Jacks
  2. Lunges
  3. Squats
  4. Crunches
  5. Planking
  6. Yoga

Tip: Set a frequency of taking notes of your weight to keep your motivations high.

Bonus Tip

Drink plenty of water. Water is an excellent fat burner. It can fill your stomach, so you end up taking smaller portions of a meal at a time. So whenever you want to eat something unhealthy or off-routine, drink two glasses of water and you won’t be able to intake too much. 🙂
