The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) approved the map of the to-be tallest skyscraper of Lahore on Monday. This high-rise building is to be located in Johar Town’s Finance and Trade Centre (FTC). However, this was the final step after receiving no-objection certificates (NOCs) from relevant departments (Civil Aviation Authority, Environment Protection Agency and Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Agency) before the construction begins.
This 45-storey building is going to be 500 feet tall, that is more than twice of Minar-e-Pakistan. The iconic structure will be the second tallest building in Pakistan, after Karachi’s Dawn Building (which is 62 storey and 938 feet). This tower is a commercial property expected to have offices and shopping places.
Currently, the tallest building in Lahore is Arfa Karim tower, built in 2009.
